i completely beleive this story.  The last thing they worry about in a private ambulance is the cleaning and sterilization.

Within the private sector there are differing standards dependant on a varying array of factors.  It is true there have been some companies that have not kept the standards that the rest of us strive by.  However these don't appear to last long in the private sector.  However the article above is refering to an NHS service so its not just the private sector that has varying standards.

That's kind of scary. I think there should be fines and perhaps a unit that monitors and checks the quality care of ambulance services. I think it's a good thing to have control checks in any medical situation to prevent mistakes and lack of care.
