Hi Happy camper,

a good first aid course (the Four/Three day) would assist you greatly in this.  These can be from a variety of places including Lifeskills.  It would be handy to know where you are in the world so I can advise you more.

Cheers

personally i beleive you are risking quite a bit on a bike, so doing a first aid class is one of the best things you could do.  Be very careful and always wear a helmet.

With  bike racing, the majority of injuries are either broken bones or concussions. It would be good to know and focus on how to handle broken bones like legs, arms, collar bones, ribs, wrists and ankles. Also even though a helmet is worn, there is still the risk of concussions. Besides those two things, you might experience internal bruising and possibly bleeding.
